Favoured for their rugged good looks and the confidence they inspire on the road, thanks to their raised driving position and perceived safety, Large SUVs and 4×4 cars have become very popular in Ireland.
Road trips have become trendy again. Data from surveys show how they’re on the rise and on Instagram, the hashtag #roadtrip shows up 61.8 million times. Now in 2021, for the first time, Cannonball Ireland are adding a 4×4 adventure to their road-trip repertoire.
The road trip begins at 10am from Powerscourt Hotel in Wicklow on November 19th and takes in the last of Wicklow’s magnificent Autumn majesty in Enniskerry, Sally Gap, Glendalough and Hollywood. The newly restored Castle Durrow Country House Hotel in Laois is the first stop for lunch – one of the midland’s jewel.
Following lunch, the convoy will drive southbound to the luxurious Great Southern Hotel in Killarney for 2 nights from where they will explore the Ring of Kerry, Dromquinna Manor, The Black Valley, Gap of Dunloe and finally Killarney National Park. Killarney National Park, the Black Valley Drive, the Gap of Dunloe, the Ring of Kerry, Dromquinna Manor and the many treasures of the Kingdom County.
Vehicles such as the Bentley Bentayga E-Hybrid and a Bentley Bentayga First Edition, and the Porsche Cayenne E-Hybrid are among the 50 vehicle convoy.
This year all Cannonball events are raising funds for The HOPE Foundation, an Irish Charity doing incredible work with the street children of Kolkata in India; HOPE funds and operates over 60 projects. Cannonball has already raised €1,250,000 for charities and has been rolling since 2009.
