The Road Safety Authority (RSA) urges drivers to check the expiry date on their licences and learner permits, as many drivers may be unknowingly driving with expired licences.
You can renew a licence up to three months before its expiry date but, if your licence has expired for 10 years or more, you must reapply and take a driver theory test, driving lessons and a driving test.
You can renew your licence using your verified MyGovID on NDLS.ie
