In a recent post on the Road Safety Authority’s (RSA’s) Instagram page, it was revealed that work is being done to get the Check it Fits Service up and running again.
The Check it Fits Service is a free child car seat checking service provided by the RSA. It is available to all road users looking to ensure the upmost safety for their child or children’s car seats
Before the pandemic, you could book an in-person appointment with one of the RSA’s expert child car seat checkers via their online booking system. However, due to Covid 19 restrictions the car safety service has been limited to an online only basis.
The current virtual appointments can be made online, just like the in-person appointments. The online appointments take place on Microsoft Teams, the length of each appointment depends on the amount of child car seats you wish to get safety checked.
You’re asked to provide information on your car, child’s car seat and the weight and height of your child. This allows the RSA seat checker to determine if your child’s car seat is actually compatible with your vehicle and suitable for your child.
